Kennedy MP Bob Katter hosted Anthony Albanese at the 2023 Mount Isa Rodeo in hopes the Prime Minister ‘recognises the wealth’ the region can bring to Australia.
In a Facebook post, Mr Katter said he was ‘looking forward to hosting the Prime Minister,’ but also wanted to teach him a valuable lesson.
“But let’s also remember Mount Isa is helping drive the Australian economy, and we’re hoping the Prime Minister recognises the wealth we can generate for this nation,” Mr Katter said on Facebook.
In a social media video released earlier this year, Mr Katter harshly criticized the Prime Minister for neglecting important Australian issues.
“He’s visited Hughenden twice,” he said.
“Twice he has visited the heartland of the outback and shown his support for the dam scheme.
“That’s the real Albanese.
“The one I am watching is running around overseas all the time and talking about the voice.
“But when is the real Anthony Albanese who gave us Australian shipping and Australian crewing, albeit under pressure from my union, when will the real Anthony Albanese stand up?”
