The Charters Towers Water Park is not facing any further delays according to Mayor Frank Beveridge.
After several delays due to worker shortages, Mr Beveridge said there will no longer be obstacles for the project and free swimming hours at the town pool are still planned as compensation for the delays.
“It still looks like a January opening, and, with school holidays, we're still working on that process with the mornings open at the pool,” he said.
Mr Beveridge also addressed concerns that the Charters Towers Water Park would have to be retested for deadly chemicals in the soil.
“It’s all been replaced with clean fill,” he said.
